Maple Memo: Addressing the Recent Nova Update

Hi all,

I’d prefer to address some from the recent topics that are actually brought up by our community following a couple weeks ago’s v190 Nova: Liberation of Cadena update.

Recently, there may be a large concern inside the community about players being falsely banned when playing the sport normally. This concern continues to be exacerbated the 2009 week with several players submitting ban appeal tickets and posting on social media marketing about their bans. First of all, I’d wish to take this opportunity to convey that we realize our banning policies and methods can have caused legitimate players being unjustly banned inside the past. For those players whorrrre inadvertently banned, perform our best to fix the MapleStory 2 Mesos situation as quickly as you can.

As many of you may know, we update our detections and methods constantly to adapt towards the various ways players are exploiting, hacking, or using third-party programs while playing MapleStory. Following any banning policy or method changes, we closely monitor and investigate ban appeal tickets to consider any bans that can have been manufactured in error. This is the case with all the recent rise in discussions and ban appeals we got starting a week ago. We have looked with the data, the kind of activity being monitored, and also have discussed the of these bans with multiple internal groups in the last few days. After our analysis, we've got determined the recent bans were indeed the appropriate course of action. These bans were the result in the previously mentioned ongoing improvements that any of us instill in our techniques to detect various activities that violate our Terms of Service. If anyone still feels strongly that they're being banned unjustly, we encourage you to definitely send in a very support ticket with as often information as possible making sure that we can still look to your case more closely.

We would also prefer to address the concerns about recent issue fixes and bossing changes we made, that reduced the quantity of options players previously had to get mesos. We are fully conscious of Reboot players are particularly upset that it change happened suddenly and without deliberation over how it affects you behavior in Reboot world and that we apologize these particular changes just weren't communicated well to players. Initially, our intent with fixing these complaints and making changes to your boss rewards was to enhance the overall balance and health in the game, by discouraging botters and farmers from further abusing the economy. However, we recognize that more effort is needed to ensure that this impact to legitimate players is docile. We have seen the constructive discussions the players are actually having regarding this and have absolutely also been discussing these complaints and concerns with your internal teams. In the quick we are considering methods to provide more mesos to content rewards to assist alleviate this transition. In the long term, we're also considering additional meaningful changes we can easily introduce towards the game being a whole to assist provide alternative ideas for players for getting mesos. While we recognize that swift action is usually desired - and sometimes which is very much possible - some issues demand a more thorough discussion and plan before starting to unveil significant changes. Please know that we will continually discuss and improve this example until we are reach an area our teams and our players are content with.

Lastly, we realize that overall there was clearly several other issues and unannounced changes introduced together with the v190 update which has negatively impacted your experience. For these problems, were planning to deal with them as quickly as we are able to starting using this week’s maintenance and continuing with your upcoming v191 Nova: Winter Bard update in a few days. The full set of fixes for these particular maintenances are going to be announced once we confirm them, but booking back to acquire the latest updates regarding these complaints.

We regret these topics have overshadowed the opposite meaningful content we added, changes we introduced, and rewarding events we've lined up for the Nova update.
