Child rescued from Moreno Valley swimming pool
News headline from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department:
On Saturday, May 7, at 5:52 p.m., officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a near-drowning that just occurred in the 11800 block of Ivy Lane, in Moreno Valley.
Upon arrival, officers located a small child and an adult in the front entry of the residence.
Two officers began to perform life-saving procedures on the small child who had been found unresponsive in the backyard pool.
Officers and detectives from the Moreno Valley Police Department continued with the investigation and learned that the child was left unattended for an undetermined period of time.
The child was transported to a local hospital via ambulance and is currently listed in critical condition.
With the summer pool use season quickly approaching, the Moreno Valley Police Department is concerned for the safety of its residents. Please be vigilant while children are playing around pools and always ensure adult supervision is provided.
