A Search Engine Optimization Campaign - Quick & Dirty

Before starting detail about ways to optimize your website for search engines I want to quickly explain what internet search engine optimization is and why it's so important.

At this time the internet is dominated by three major search engines: Google, Yahoo, and MSN (live).

What's a Search Engine?

A research engine may be thought of as the biggest storefront of all time. But, it dispenses EVERYTHING (all informative data on the web). You walk as much as the counter (visit Google.com) and ask the magical clerk anything (type in your search), you hit "go" and off he runs back to the largest warehouse of all time to find you exactly what you need. In a matter of milliseconds he's back with a listing of what exactly he thinks you need. Essentially this is one way a research engine works.

Roughly speaking a research engine has two facades - a top and a back. The leading is what we communicate with all of the time. Leading of a search engine is the procedure where we perform searches - it is the store clerk in the aforementioned example. You're probably familiar with the big search box and search button every one of the major services have on the font pages. You visit "google.com" you enter everything you are looking to analyze or purchase, hit "search" and you're taken fully to a typical page with a listing of results. Of all of the sites on the Internet they are what the internet search engine (in this case Google) believe most closely match everything you are looking for. That's the "front" of a research engine - pretty simple.

The back of the se is where all the task is completed, it is where everything on the Internet is available and sorted in this way so that your search may bring up meaningful, relevant results; and an integral component to the process are a research engine's robots. A robot is an application (a element of a research engine) that really goes out, across different sites on the Internet, and grabs information (text, pictures, audio, video, links, everything). The robot grabs the info and brings it back once again to the warehouse.

What is Search Engine Optimization?

Se optimization is the procedure where we get the eye of the store clerk - we grab his collar, look him in a person's eye, and tell him he should turn to us (our website) for anyone looking for what we have to offer. So, as an example, if I am running an online bicycle shop I wish to be #1 anytime anyone pursuit of "bike store" in the search engines.

Exactly why is Search Engine Optimization Important?

Se optimization is so important because IT IS THE WAY PEOPLE FIND THINGS. Be clear what's being said here, search engines are not just how people see things on (only) the internet!

SEARCH ENGINES ARE THE WAY PEOPLE FIND THINGS!

People use search engines to get what they need, to accomplish research, and even for entertainment. People are becoming determined by search engines to quickly serve up what they need. Searching for the definition of a word? Work with a search engine. Want to locate a great chicken recipe? Make use of a search engine. Can't remember the name of this great website you visited? Use a search engine.

And the amount of searches is astounding. Based on recent estimates on an

y given day roughly 600,000,000 searches are preformed!

So why is it important? In a nutshell it is essential because your clients and clients are deploying it to locate your services. If your website is optimized they'll find you - if it isn't they'll find your competitors.

Beyond this key point there are two more explanations why search engine optimization is really important:

1) Search Engine Optimization Turns Conventional Marketing on Its Head

2) It Has PERFECT Timing

In conventional marketing you force your company in front of your potential customer. You return them an immediate mail postcard, you create a billboard, or TV advertisement and try as much as possible to get their attention - to attract their eyeballs and hairy lobes. Maybe you've done your homework, targeting a really specific list, but you're still seeking their attention - and who knows when and if you'll get it.

Search engine optimization is the entire opposite, your potential customer always finds you. By strategically optimizing your website you make fully sure your audience sees you once they are searching for that which you need certainly to offer. So long as you've taken the proper steps (which we'll speak about in just a minute) your services come pre-sold, by one of many greatest word-of-mouth tools ever created - the internet search engine!

Finally, the timing with this whole process is impeccable. Your services aren't presented at dinner (as a targeted, but inappropriately timed cold call might), they aren't presented while someone is driving (in the case of an ad or billboard), they're presented at precisely as soon as someone is trying to find what you need to offer.
